Guardians of Future Generations

Tue, 20/03/2012 - 18:00 - 19:30
Town/City:

Ross Jackson (author, Occupy World Street ) & Rupert Read (author, "Guardians of the Future") discuss radical ideas for protecting the interests of future generations.

The costs of decisions we make today will be borne by future generations; the issue of intergenerational justice is at the heart of the need to act on climate change. So how might the world be different if the interests and basic needs of future generations were given legal protection? Come along to hear Ross and Rupert discuss their ideas, and to join in the public debate that follows.

Campaign Against Arms Trade: London Campaign Day

Sat, 28/04/2012 - 11:30 - 17:30
Town/City:
London

One year has passed since the UK was condemned for its arms sales to authoritarian regimes in the Middle East and North Africa …but the UK is still supplying weapons to dictators.

This time last year, while UK weapons were being used against civilians in Libya, David Cameron went on a tour to promote weapons sales in the Middle East. In 2011, Saudi Arabia deployed armoured vehicles to help suppress protests in Bahrain, but UK arms sales to the kingdom never even slowed.

Now is the time to take action to expose that This is NOT OK.
