For over two decades, Christina Lamb has reported from Afghanistan, with unparalleled access to all key decision makers. She has developed an extensive understanding of the country, its people and the ongoing conflict.

There are 12 billion bullets produced every year – almost two bullets for every person on the planet. Guns kill as many as 500,000 people every year. Tearing lives apart, they impact not only the dead, the wounded, the suicidal and the mourning, but have far-reaching effects on society and communities.

Red lines have been set and crossed, inquiries have been conducted and talks have been attempted, and yet the conflict in Syria continues to devastate the lives of its population. In what can only be described as one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent history, more than 200,000 have died and 12.2 million are now in desperate need of aid.

This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Joey Boink.

Liverpool Quakers joined by other groups in the Merseyside Peace Network will be holding a stall in School Lane near the Bluecoat or, if wet, in the Quaker Meeting foyer during the day (approx. 11-3pm). We will display information about local COs then during WW1 and now world wide.

Norwich Peace Camp & Peace Cycle embrace an apolitical and united commitment of local peace, community, faith, charity, environmental, human rights and other groups and organisations - many with national and international connections - to peace, justice and better understanding.

Join us for this exciting Full Board Weekend at Northern College, Barnsley. It's open to all activists with a sense of curiosity and we'll run a course that provides you with bags of information on key events in working class history and asks you to connect this with the present day. From Tolpuddle to "Beer and Sandwiches", from Peterloo to Grunwick, we'll explore the past to make the future.

Stories and pictures of the real lives of people living in the area will be provided by Eid Swais, a Jordanian living locally. Coffee at 10.30am. All are most welcome. Admission is free with a small charge for coffee.
