Beyond Forgiving is a documentary about Ginn Fourie and Letlapa Mphahlele and how they have risen beyond their pain. In 1993, during the apartheid era in South Africa, Letlapa, then director of operations for the military wing of the Pan-Africanist Congress, ordered reprisal massacres in response to the killing of black school children. Ginn lost her only daughter in one of these. She later forgave Letlapa. This is their story.
This talk will outline the issues facing Northern Ireland in the search for peace and reconciliation, it will present an historical overview of past efforts to secure a positive peace and conclude with some reflections regarding the future of peace building in Northern Ireland.

This unique exhibition explores the impact that the Great War had on crime, policing, and imprisonment. week for peace has fed into the exhibition details of the conscientious objectors in Nottinghamshire, who were often imprisoned, as were enemy aliens and prisoners of war. These poignant stories will be told through real-life, personal stories – some local and some national.

With Dr Ahron Bregman. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is long and bloody and all attempts to sort it out have failed so far. In our talk today Dr Ahron Bregman from the Department of War Studies, King's College London, will suggest how the conflict could be solved. Ahron served in the Israeli army for six years and as an artillery officer took part in the 1982 Lebanon war.

The recent elections in India delivered an overwhelming victory for Narendra Modi and the BJP, a political party linked to extreme right wing ideology, ending the post independence domination of the Congress party. The consequences of this political earthquake will be far reaching for both India and for the geopolitics of the region. Priyamvada Gopal teaches in the English Faculty at Cambridge and researches into colonial and post colonial literatures as well as the polítics and cultures of Empíre.
