A Lenten day of reflection, discussion and quiet with the Pax Christi ICON of peace. Led by Pat Gaffney of Pax Christi.

A Public Seminar on the legacy and influence of Martin Luther King with guest speaker Dr Qamar al Huda. Moderator Dr S. Ayse Kadayifci-Orellana. In association with the Cordoba Foundation.
Dr. Qamar ul Huda is a Senior Program Officer in the Religion and Peacemaking Center and a scholar of Islam at U.S. Institute of Peace.

Christian CND will hold a liturgy in which we bury an Alleluia plaque in a coffin at the MOD Headquarters in London. PLEASE WEAR BLACK!

We'll meet at the Imperial War Museum at 6pm and carry the “Alleluia” plaque via St. Thomas’s Hospital and the Houses of Parliament to the MOD Headquarters. We sing hymns and pray along the way. The consumption of pancakes will take place afterwards (details to be confirmed nearer the time).

Dr Elaheh Rostami-Povey is a writer and researcher at the School of Oriental and African Studies whose research focuses on Afghanistan, Iran and the Middle East. Her most recent publications include Afghan women, identity and invasion, published by Zed Books, 2007.

Oxford Hub Hosting an event discussing Vijay Mehta’s latest book: The Economics of Killing: How the West Fuels War and Poverty in the Developing World.

Through input from our speaker Megan McKenna (http://meganmckenna.com), and a range of workshops and creative spaces, the conference will seek to: explore ways of integrating action and faith through prayer, art and lifestyle; critique current social, economic and political realities from the perspective of the poor, in the light of the Gospel and Catholic Social Teaching; and provide opportunities for concrete action.

As part of LGBT History Month Housmans welcome guests from the writing co-op, Gay Authors' Workshop, and its allied publisher, Paradise Press, who will be providing an introduction to he project, followed by author readings from two new titles adding to the impressive list of over thirty titles, novels, short stories, memoirs and poetry.

The launch titles are A Life's Tales, a memoir by Joe Hucknall, and Eros at Large, short stories.

There they maintain the mass destruction missiles deployed on the nuclear submarines based at Faslane on the Clyde.
