Dangerous Acts Starring the Unstable Elements of Belarus + Skype Q&A. Belarus is governed by Europe’s last dictator, Alexander Lukashenko. In the run-up to the 2010 presidential election and for a year afterwards, filmmaker Madeleine Sackler followed the trials and tribulations of the Belarus Free Theatre, an underground theatre company based in Minsk and led by Natalia and Nikolai.

The 4,500-kilometer (2,800-mile) Urengoy–Pomary–Uzhgorod gas pipeline connects the second-largest gas field in the world in Urengoy, West Siberia with the Western European market. It has become one of the most vital arteries of the Russian economy, with Vladimir Putin claiming that its gas and oil revenues account for half of Russia’s disposable capital.

In the early hours of 4 June 1989, soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army opened fire on a pro-democracy protest in Tiananmen Square, killing untold hundreds of people. Twenty five years on, the event has been commemorated around the world, but how does China remembers this defining moment in the country’s history?

We will be joined by a panel including the award-winning journalist Louisa Lim, whose book The People’s Republic of Amnesia charts how events unfolded that night, revealing previously unknown details.

Writer and campaigner Sami Ramadani, himself an active participant in campaigns against Saddam's regime for many years, will explore this shocking situation with us. Sami opposed the 2003 US-led occupation of Iraq, speaks widely on Middle East issues, and is a Guardian contributor.

On August 2nd, Bristol Dockers' Union held a mass meeting on the dockside to debate whether Britain should go to war. They voted unanimously against war. This was one of many anti-war meetings and demonstrations across the country. Remembering The Real World War 1 will be re-staging the Bristol dockers' debate on Narrow Quay, near the Arnolfini.

Farnborough International is a shop window for the world's arms dealers. This year it will host Russian and Ukrainian arms companies side-by-side, as well as the main weapons suppliers to Syria's President Assad.

World Beyond War is a global nonviolent movement to end war and establish a just and sustainable peace.

WILPF, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, are staging a reconstruction of the protest that women made at the Kingsway Hall, London against the declaration of war on 4th August 1914. We will have banners depicting 4 of the women who made that protest, many of whom went on to become founders of WILPF the following year. The reconstruction will take place opposite Holborn Tube Station (close to where the Kingway hall used to be). WILPF welcomes your support.

Camp will stand in solidarity with communities opposing fracking, and will be a hub for skillshares, workshops, entertainment and direct action.

Artist Grace Adam is currently artist-in-residence at St Giles-in-the-Fields. The exhibition is a series of sculptural interventions, which form an investigation and response into monuments and memorials in St Giles-in-the-Fields, and their relationships with the space itself.

100 years ago a meeting was held to oppose the war. This will be a re-enactment of that meeting.

Concert with Phil Minton & Veryan Weston. To mark the eve of the declaration of the First Word War. Phil Minton & Veryan Weston will be performing songs related to both that war especially premiered for this occasion, as well as a selection of more timeless songs of dissent and protest that also relates to war.
