November 6th is the International Day of Action Against Depleted Uranium Weapons. It is also the United Nations' Day for Prevention of the Exploitation of the Environment during Wars and Armed Conflicts.
The Ministry of Defence has fired DU into the Solway Firth as a part of its test firing programme for over 30 years. Over 31 tons of DU remain at the bottom of the Firth while the MOD have no idea how this impacts ecosystems.

Based on the novel by the war veteran Erich Maria Remarque, this film follows a group of young German recruits during World War 1. this is the restored 1930 film, containing important sections missing from the subsequent abridged version. Discussion led by Tony Benn, with Kate Hudson of CND and Dr Toby Haggith of the Imperial War Museum Film Section.

The Day of Dance in Saltaire is a great event that takes place twice a year to raise money for Oxfam and Yorkshire CND, amongst other charities.
Workshops throughout the day, with evening events inc a family ceilidh from 17:00 until 18:30.
