Demo with the peace scarf, winding from the Westminster Parliament to MoD along Whitehall and filling Parliament Sq, where there will be music and a few speeches. After the general election the whole of the peace scarf will be turned into blankets, as Wool Against Weapons decided. But because the peace scarf was such an amazing visual statement against Trident, Wool Against Weapons, Action AWE and CND are inviting everyone to use it as a peace resource, to WRAP UP AND SCRAP TRIDENT.
Screening: 'Countdown to Zero',
'Countdown to Zero' reveals the truth behind an issue on which human survival itself hangs- the very real possibility of nuclear disaster. It is a documentary film that traces the history of the atomic bomb, focussing on accidents and false alerts. This is part of our campaign to persuade voters to oppose Trident replacement leading up to the General Election in 2015.
Bar & Refreshments will be available before the film.
Space for Peace Week.
Yorkshire CND and friends will meet at Eller Beck on the A169 between Pickering and Whitby. We will be touring around the base followed by a peace picnic. We hope to see you there, get in touch if you'd like to share transport.
Rethink Trident public launch
If you haven’t yet signed the Rethink Trident pledge, you’ll be able to at the event.
Over the next two years this broad alliance of individuals and organisations is set to be a powerful collective voice against wasting £100bn on a Cold War weapons system, while the NHS and other public services are slashed.
But before then we would love you to join us for the public launch of Rethink Trident in Parliament hosted by Caroline Lucas MP.

"Can we scrap Trident and Ban Nuclear Weapons with a Global Treaty?"
Norwich UNA and Norwich CND welcome Dr Rebecca Johnson to discuss this question. This is a unique opportunity to hear a renowned expert on Nuclear Disarmament and the Non-Proliferation Treaty. It is also very timely as the future of the Trident nuclear deterrent is being decided in 2016 at obscene expense.
