Sizewell Camp and demo.
Sizewell is the proposed site for 2 new nuclear reactors as well as a dry storage dump. We have had a weekend camp there in April for the last four years in order to commemorate the disaster at Chernobyl and to show our opposition to new nuclear power. The demonstration takes place on Saturday the 21st at the gates of the power station. Ron Bailey has agreed to speak at the demonstration. He is one of the authors of the corruption of governance report which outlines how Parliament was mislead over nuclear power.

The Queen's Peace Party
Come and celebrate the Jubilee with a party for peace and disarmament! Come in fancy dress/posh frocks. Best hat or crown competition. There will be a short service at 1.30pm - secular event starts at 2pm. There is room to park cars but we may be able to run some transport from London if there is a demand. All welcome!

30 days of Actions at Faslane
Sat 9th June 2012 will see the beginning of a 30 day campaign of non-violent direct actions against the Faslane Naval Base to commemorate 30 years of nuclear resistance at Faslane Peace Camp.

Embassies Walk
As part of our preparation for the PrepCom, we hold an (nearly) Annual Embassy Walk in London where we visit nuclear-weapons states embassies and those of the New Agenda Coalition and also Japan.
Join us for coffee at 10am in the Crypt Café and for prayers in the Dick Sheppard Chapel at 10.30am ready for the start of the walk at 11.am.
Easter Monday Liturgy at AWE
Christian CND will hold a Liturgy at Aldermaston. There will be a symbolic digging up of the Alleluia during this event.
Bring daffodil bulbs to plant. Starts at 12noon at West Gate, Tadley Roundabout, processing anti-clockwise around the base. All welcome.
Burying the Alleluia!
During Lent, ‘Alleluia!’ is not said during our church liturgies. As CCND’s special contribution to the 30th Anniversary of Ash Wednesday Witness at the MoD, there will be a preliminary liturgy and procession across the Westminster Bridge, carrying a carved Alleluia plaque, candles, cross and coffin, from the Imperial War Museum to the Embankment Gardens.
At the end of this liturgy, the Alleluia Plaque will be symbolically buried, only to be resurrected at Easter.
Please dress in black or purple if you can and join us in front of the Imperial War Museum at 2pm.
