George Lakey draws from a variety of successful social movements in Europe, the US, and elsewhere in order to show principles of successful organising and strategy that apply to unions, NGOs, and other groups. Much energy on the left is pouring into _reacting_ against the rise of the right. But lessons from similar periods in history show us that reactivity is much less powerful than countering with a well-grounded pro-active strategy.
