An event organised by Medact.
Today many decision makers believe that ‘nuclear deterrence’ is an essential component of the UK’s defence strategy. At this event Medact will launch a report which examines the delusional nature of some of the thinking that underpins this belief.
The evening will be chaired by Baroness Miller of Chilthorne Domer, and speakers include Frank Boulton, a Trustee of Medact; Kate Hudson, General Secretary of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament; and Ben Zala, Director of the Sustainable Security Programme of the Oxford Research Group.
The report The Delusional Thinking behind a Policy of ‘Nuclear Deterrence’ is dedicated to Gill Reeve whose many years of creative work towards a peaceful future without nuclear weapons was an inspiration to us all.
This is a fundamental issue for a more peaceful and cooperative world – we hope to see you there!
