In 1970 director Michael Grigsby made one of the first films to show the devastating impact of the Vietnam war on soldiers who returned home. In We Went To War he returns to meet these men over 40 years later. Merging past and present in a contemplative, visual and touching way, the film reveals how much the men's experience of war shaped their lives.
