An exhibition featuring the two 'Peace Plinths' recently evicted from opposite Parliament and work of celebrated artists including Alison Jackson, Ben Eine, Billy Childish, kennardphillipps, Sarah Maple, Schoony and Inkie.
There will be a number of talks and screenings in the gallery including:
Saturday 13 October, 7pm - Tam Carrigan will show images and talk about his work with the Halabja Community Playground Project
Sunday 14 October, 2.30pm - A screening of Rikki Blue's film SOCPA: the Movie (see the trailer at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ol9hcQlVX9M) and Emma Stoner's short film Peacecamp and a discussion with peace activists Maria Gallastegui and Simon Moore
Tuesday 16 October, 7pm - Peace activist Maya Evans and photojournalist Guy Smallman on their work in Afghanistan with Guy's 30-minute film Fifteen Million Afghans, documenting the struggle of ordinary Afghans against corruption, poverty and unemployment
Wednesday 17 October, 7pm - Emily Johns will show images and talk about working as an artist and as an activist
Proceeds from the sale of selected works including the plinths will go to The Halabja Community Playground Project in Northern Iraq.
