Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire

Commemorating 30 yrs since Upper Heyford Peace Camp and the Peace Blockade at which 752 people were arrested.
Meeting at the site of the old Peace Camp on Camp Road, Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire, then at the village Community Centre for shared lunch and discussions. Kate Hudson, CND, will be with us.
Please bring food to share, memories, photos and memorabilia plus a stone so we can make a peace cairn at the site of the old Peace Camp.
We have also arranged a guided tour of the base - which is the largest ex cold war military base in Europe. This will start at 2.15pm and last approximately two hours. Numbers are extremely limited. Please note this may not be suitable for young children. It also costs £10 each and if you intend to take part please RSVP to Kim Bewdley: kim.bewdley@live.co.uk
The Community Centre is booked until 4pm so people not going on the tour of the base can stay there or go for a walk around the perimeter of the base or even have a drink in The Barley Mow, from which we are no longer banned!
