This evening event will address the bills affecting protests (PSCS, Public Order and National Security), alongside what the political establishment (such as MPs and members of the House of Lords) and public can do moving forward to challenge and resist these bills.
We also hope for locals to use the evening to help build stronger relationships with other movements (such as XR, BLM & Kill The Bill) to raise awareness that the issue of nuclear weapons affects all of us. Whether that’s from an economic perspective, how it affects indigenous land, or simply the fact that when a nuclear weapon strikes it causes unimaginable harm to everyone. By meeting with activists to discuss and build an intersectional approach between movements, we know than we can strengthen our campaigns as a collective to raise attention to the anti-racist, climate activist and feminist case (to name just a few) for nuclear disarmament.

Following speeches we will also include a placard and badge making session, with music supplied by Sliced Tomatoes, to encourage different groups to work together in a fun way through art.
