Plutonium did not exist in the world before WWII, just specks deep underground. Rachel will talk about the UK propulsion to turn Uranium into Plutonium - for use in Nuclear Weapons and the horrendous consequences of that Programme - from the devastation caused by Uranium mining to the existential threat caused by the massive stocks of Plutonium that have resulted.
