Don’t miss our Festival Focus series of events:

Festival Focus - A World in Crisis?

Democracy, national security and sovereignty all appear to be under threat. With a handful of powerful men seemingly dictating world politics, what does the future hold? In partnership with the Morrell Centre for Legal and Political Philosophy we present three Festival Focus sessions. Join us for one or attend them all.

Disinformation and Polarisation, Sunday 8 June, 11am to 12.30pm (in person)

Across the globe, political disagreement is characterised by allegations that opponents are ‘traitors’, disputes over basic facts and an unwillingness to consider compromise. Our expert speakers examine how disinformation is driving and maintaining this polarisation.

A New World Order? Sunday 8 June, 1.30pm to 3pm (in person)

With Trump’s second presidency, are we returning to an era of Great Powers and ‘might means right’? What are the threats of this new world disorder and the implications for international organisations and sovereign nations? Join in the discussion with our expert speakers.

Is Europe Safe?

Sunday 8 June 3.30pm to 5pm (in person)

There is a serious possibility that the US might withdraw its security guarantees for Europe, in place since 1945. Our speakers review the options and consider what the future of Europe might look like. How do we balance change with a relationship with the US?
