On Remembrance Sunday, Bury St Edmunds Quakers will lay a wreath of white poppies at the Angel Hill war memorial.
Bury St Edmunds Quakers explain the focus of the ceremony this year: "The white poppy represents all, civilians and military alike, whose lives have been taken by armed conflict. There is a particular poignancy this year as we reflect on the war in Ukraine in which so many civilians are losing their lives. As of 23 October, the United Nations have verified a total of 6374 civilian deaths, of which 402 are children. In addition, 9776 people have been injured. This is the terrible nature of modern warfare."
All welcome to join the ceremony for poetry and readings, as well as moment of silence.
