A day of workshops for local community mediators. The two interactive workshops will explore participant roles in mediation and look at the use of linguistic concepts such as opposition, modality, naming and negation in exploring coded meanings in conflict and conflict resolution. The workshops will also be a great opportunity to meet and network with linguistic experts and fellow mediators. The workshops form part of a day of events marking the launch of the Language in Conflict website, and will be followed by the official website launch at 4pm. You are more than welcome to stay on for the evening event and join us in celebrating our new website.

Two prominent peacebuilders, Jo Berry and Pat Magee, will deliver a talk on their experiences of overcoming conflict through communication and understanding. The evening will be rounded off by a wine reception, giving scholars and practitioners from both fields an opportunity to meet and network.
