Town/City:
LONDON. The cause of animal welfare was a concern of Gandhi's throughout his life.
Having promised his mother before coming to London in 1888 that he would eat
no meat, he joined the London Vegetarian Society and his first public speech
was on animal cruelty. Is the case for reducing meat consumption even
stronger today than it was in Gandhi's time?
Graham Davey of the Gandhi Foundation will introduce the day's speakers from
different faith groups followed by your questions.
